Solutions
Thursdays: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM; Open Group
Age Group: 11 – 13 years old (admission based on fit)
Group Goal: Build skills to better understand others and learn why social skills are important for developing relationships
- Social skill development through direct instruction, role play/ practice, and goal directed interactions
- Exploring new ways to handle challenging social situations
- Group discussions and interactions to share experiences while providing feedback to peers
- Handouts will be provided that families can use to keep aware of topics being discussed, facilitate conversations about group and help them assist the child in practicing new skills
Challengers
Thursdays: 6:00 – 7:00 PM; Open Group
Age Group: 16 – 18 years old (admission based on fit)
Group Goal: Build skills for developing healthy interpersonal and pragmatic relationships
- Developing skills to assist in forming positive and mutually satisfying relationships
- Group leader will facilitate activities, group discussions, and goal directed interactions to practice skills
- Handouts will be provided that families can use to keep aware of topics being discussed, facilitate conversations about group and help them assist the individual in practicing new skills
Achievers
Fridays: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM; Open Group
Age Group: 8 – 10 years old (admission based on fit)
Group Goal: Facilitate the development and use of social skills
- Developing new ways to interact with others and adjusting learned approaches to promote positive interactions
- Practicing social skills through group leader facilitation of role play/ practice, goal directed interactions, and direct instruction.
- Handouts will be provided that families can use to keep aware of topics being discussed, facilitate conversations about group and help them assist the child in practicing new skill
