The transition to college is a huge life event for most students. If you have Asperger’s or related learning disorders, you may have additional educational or social issues to consider. Knowing what to expect can help teenagers and parents alike feel less anxiety as students gear up for college. CIP (College Internship Program) in Bloomington, IN is offering a two week “taste of college” July 7th – 19th. This highly structured program gives high school students with ASD an opportunity to learn what college is like, to briefly live away from home in a safe/supportive environment, and to meet other students with similar goals and needs. While CRG does not endorse other programs/services, we wanted students and families to know about this option as summer plans were being made.
