Navigating the Transition to College
Facilitated by: Lauren Skinner, LCSW
If you are entering a new chapter of life in a college environment, you will be exploring your self-identity, independence, adaption to new social environments, academic achievements and professional growth. Although this transitional period can be an exciting and positive time; it can create plenty of challenges.
This workshop will assist high school juniors and seniors, and young adults with the tools needed to navigate the social and academic pressures that can increase risks for developing mental health and substance use disorders, with a focus on strategies for academics, social skills and independence. Our goal is to normalize the difficulties that you may encounter and provide support as you prepare for college.
