2018 Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Summit

According to the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, AAC includes many ways to communicate without talking including sign language, writing in a notebook to answer a question, or using technology that speaks for the person. CRG’s Speech-Language Pathologist and Assistive Technology Specialist, Beth Waite-Lafever, MA-CCC/SLP-ATP, is once again collaborating with colleagues to host the 4^th Indiana AAC Summit on September 28^th and 29^th. This year’s event will take place at the Forum Conference Center (behind IKEA) in Fishers at 116^th Street. This conference is ideal for teachers, speech-language pathologists, and family members who support nonverbal individuals. Sessions will focus on behavior and communication and working with teens and young adults who are nonverbal. The keynote address will be given by Greg Buse, a man in his late 20’s with Mitrochondrial Disease who uses a speech-generating device with his eyes to communicate. Click here for more information.
